Architects Of Change: Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle

I have been trying to reuse or extend the life of an item for quite some time. Early in my creative practice, I started making things from throw-away items. Finally, if I can’t make either of those choices, I recycle. This is my message to the world.

I repurpose a lot of clothes. I prefer making long-lasting items like tote bags, pouches, and other accessories. I have used my dad’s old clothes to repurpose a skirt, art tapestry, and purse. I made earrings, book covers, and much more. I like to use old mail to paint and collage with.

My goal is to work on the trash on this earth by doing the 5 R’s linked below. I want to encourage everyone to do at least one of them or all of them to help with the cause. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about how I am trying to structure a change in how we live our lives.

Here are some links to ideas to try to help save Mother Earth one repurposed item at a time:

One artist that I look up to is Kalliopi Monoyios. She is repurposing recycled items into fashion. Scottie Burgess does some found object repurposing in some work.

Contact me if you would like to donate any clothes.

I am an older woman inspired to not give up due to life struggles and to strive in everything I do to achieve my goals. I work from home with creating different art pieces. Helping the homeless community in Denver is important to me as well. I like being creative and posting on my blogging about experiences, new information, and lessons learned. I am motivated to put information on the web hoping it will help others. I have two beautiful girls that are grown now and I hope they will be the women I know that is within them. I love technology and the outdoors. I am improving my health to live as long as possible. Life is worth living and living to the fullest.
